It is with sadness that we share the news that Deacon Joseph Gabriele has died. Funeral arrangements are pending and should be available in the Hartford Courant in coming days. In addition to his dedicated service to St. Mary's Parish as a Deacon for many years, Mr. Gabriele also served as school principal here at St. Mary's after retiring from his successful career in the public education sector.  He and his wife, Marilyn, who passed away earlier this year, were strong supporters of our parish and school and actively shared their gifts and talents to make our community a better place. Each year, a deserving student at St. Mary's School is selected by our Pastor to benefit from the Joseph & Marilyn Scholarship Fund. Joe and Marilyn established this scholarship to help assure that Catholic education would remain a viable option for families now and in the future. We rejoice that Joe and Marilyn are reunited in God's love in heaven and pray for their family during this time of loss.
